Gjesteforelesning med professor James A. Robinson

The Department of Economics and The Faculty of Economics and Management have the pleasure of inviting you to a guest lecture with professor James A. Robinson. The title of the guest lecture is "How to Organize a Society to achieve Prosperity". Robinson is visiting NTNU in order to receive his honorary doctorate.

Robinson is among the world's most influential social scientists over the last two decades, having shaped political science, history and economics by studying the possibly biggest social science question of them all: Why are some countries successful while others are not? Together with Daron Acemoglu from MIT, he is the foremost advocate that differences between countries are primarily due to their different quality of institutions. In the book Why Nations Fail, which has been translated into more than 40 languages and sold more than one million copies, Robinson and Acemoglu also demonstrate a great ability to convey their research to a broader audience.

The guest lecture will take place on November 17th from 12:15 to 13:00, in auditorium A2(Adolf Øien building, Klæbuveien 72 – MazeMap link). The lecture will also be live streamed here.

The lecture is open for everyone. Please feel free to share this invitation with others that may be interested in attending.
